These projects allow me to do a deep dive into the subjects that inspire me. This can include history, music or a trip around the corner. I do a lot of research to gain a better understanding my inspirations.to then visualize it.
Here are a few ongoing projects that I am working on.

WATER, ME, YOU AND I Series
In this project I am exploring the history and relationships of Black bodies and water bodies. Through this element I encourage conversations on the leisure, healing, liberation, horror, joy and birth connections of water. Each experience can be different yet hold a similar current.
What is your relationship with water?
What is your water story?

Pain Chronicles:
Research on Black Bodies and Chronic Pain Within the Medical System
In this project I am using my personal experience as a chronic pain sufferer and research from national pain reports to highlight the medical apartheid Black and rationalized bodies experienced within the healthcare system.

East Coast Black Age of Comics: Philadelphia
Every year in May I have been gathering with other comic artists, authors and illustrators to celebrate the Black legacy of comics.
This was ECBACC's 23rd year and it was phenomenal! I have been participating since 2007 and each year I am inspired and empowered. In that time I have witnessed the power and impact of this gathering. The creativity, intergenerational enlightenment and the Black entrepreneurship is top tier. My role is in the Kids Learning Zone where we learn about masks and create our own. I encouraged participants to be inspired by multicultural masks, colors, and patterns. This year I had the privilege of showing my comics, A Chronic Life. This comic is all about my ongoing navigation of the medical health care system. I am always excited and thankful to share these comics and listen to other peoples stories about the topic. Click the link below to learn more about ECBACC www.ecbacc.com/ |

Moore College of Art: Comic Expo-Philadelphia
I had an exciting time exhibiting the pages of my new comic, A Chronic Life. There I was in great company with other Philadelphia comic artists.
This comic is a way for me to express my experience and my research on the impact of medical bias and neglect within Black and Brown communities in the United States. |

Poetry and Art Series
I love reading poetry.
As a visual artist, I can close my eyes and visualize the words the poet or author is using. I play very close attention to words, intention and symbolism of each word. One of my favorite things to do is to illustrate some of my favorite poems or lyrics. Check out some of my artworks below:

Still I Rise, Maya Angelou
In this illustration I am imagining one of the stanza's in Mya Angelou's poem. I am currently working on illustrating the entire poem.
Does my haughtiness offend you?
Don't you take it awful hard
’Cause I laugh like I've got gold mines
Diggin’ in my own backyard.
